It is strongly not recommended to smoke while pregnant. Because of the diverse range of chemical toxins in tobacco products such as cigarettes, multiple birth defects are possible as a result of a pregnant mother smoking. These defects include stillbirths, having a low-birthrate baby, preterm delivery, cerebral palsy, mental retardation, learning problems, and even postnatal death.
