The testes are shaped ellipsoid. They are housed in the scrotum that is an extension of the abdominal wall. It has been observed that in many men, one testicle is higher than the other because of the difference in anatomical vascular structures on both sides left and right. The average testicular volume in a healthy European man is 18 cc (12cm to 30cm).
