Kegel exercises ( named after Dr. Arnold Kegel) are exercises done to strengthen muscles in the pelvic floor region. There are many variations of these exercises. They help to condition muscles to make childbirth easier, increase sexual pleasure and stop urine leakage on sneezing or coughing. Basic kegels involve simply tightening and loosening the pelvic muscles over and over again.
