It is a cyst that forms from a Bartholin gland which the discharge channel is blocked by mucus or other barrier and becomes a cyst filled with liquid. Its size varies from pea size to an egg's size. It is not transmitted through sexual contact. But infections as gonorrhea or syphilis can cause it. It most frequently affects women 20 to 29 years. If infected, the Bartholin's cyst becomes a Bartholin's abscess
