Peripartum Cardiomyopathy is a rare form of heart failure that is occurs during late pregnancy or in the early months after delivery. It is caused by inefficient working of the left ventricle. Its incidence seems to vary with race, black women showing high susceptibility and white and Japanese/Chinese women showing almost zero susceptibility.
