These are peer organs, ovoid, measuring 3 cm x 1.5 cm x 1.5 cm (about the size of a Greek olive). They are located inside the side wall of the pelvis called the ovarian fossa. This fossa is limited above by the external iliac artery, and is located in front of the ureter and internal iliac artery. They attached a fringe of the fallopian tube and alternately release a mature egg per month.
