During the pre-and per-menstrual time, the cervix dilates slightly to allow menstrual blood to pour Outside of the uterus. This expansion requires a small contraction that causes cramping pain that some women feel. After the first vaginal delivery, the cervical opening enlarges. Contraction is no longer necessary to let the menstrual blood and the pain was cramping no longer appears.
