Vitamin B12 like folic acid is necessary for the proper development of the neural tube. Similar to folic acid, it is required in the first 30 days of pregnancy. Unfortunately, many women do not realise that they are pregnant at this time, increasing chances of inadequate Vitamin B12 amounts in their diet.
